Guided cider tastings are back for Franklin County CiderDays 2026! This 32nd annual CiderDays, Gnarly Pippins will be hosting the ever-brilliant minds of Casey Simpson (ACA-certified Pommelier and f. Artifact Cider Project) and Dan Pucci (author, American Cider) for an evening of tasting fine cider and perry in two seatings, following two themes:
SESSION I – PERRY, AN OCEAN APART !
In the opening session, we will explore 6 perries, three from the Old World perry regions of the UK and France, and three from the United States, honing in on the differences in pear varieties use, fermentation qualities, and more.
SESSION II – OLD MOUNTAINS VS NEW MOUNTAINS
The Appalachian Mts. are some of the oldest mountains in the continent, and the mighty Rocky Mtns. are some of the youngest! In this second seating, we will taste through 6 varietally-driven ciders, including Harrison and Hewes’, three from the old mountains, and three from the new mountains, and see how the geologic differences of provenance affects the cider !
Both of these tastings feature cider + perry selections that are limited-edition, and/or challenging to source within MA, so you don’t want to miss this! Price of admission includes complementary, commemorative CiderDays stemware.
$35/ea., 21+ age verification must be provided at the door.
**Tickets are all WILL CALL! When you arrive at Raven Books, come to the front desk, where you will get a wristband and a glass! **
